A certified GRI Trainer for BrownFlynn, Steve also spent 5 years at the nonprofit Business for Social Responsibility, and served for 6 years as a U.S. diplomat in developing countries, where he held political-economic, environmental and human rights responsibilities.

Steve Voien brings with him a wide range of experience that includes serving six years as a U.S. diplomat with environmental, human rights, and community engagement responsibilities in Africa, the Balkans, and Washington, D.C. He has also published two political-environmental thrillers (HarperCollins, Knopf) to good reviews in the New York Times, Washington Post, People magazine, and on National Public Radio. He lives in the San Francisco Bay area.
